School transport regulations and standards

The vehicle may not be more than 16 years old.
They shall be fully identified as school transport both at the front and at the rear.
The bus will have seats for people with functional diversity.
Bars shall be provided at the doors to facilitate climbing up and down the stairs of the vehicle.
The maximum duration of each journey shall not exceed 1 hour.
The vehicle floor must not be slippery.
Seats located in front of stairwells, or those not protected by the back of another seat, shall be provided with a fixed protection element.
The vehicle documents must show that the vehicle has passed the roadworthiness test if it is less than 5 years old and the six-monthly test if it is more than 5 years old.
Vehicles shall be type-approved to category M.
The driver's seat must be protected by a transparent screen.
